ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Me, R.JAYAKUMAR (38yrs) born as a dalit (formerly called "untouchable") or "low caste". i grew up in the village of Pattipulam in the Kancheepuram district as there was no school in my village. I had to walk 10 km to reach school and then 10 km back every day. After graduating from higher secondary in 1992 and went to Chennai for university education. After that I decided to found HEARTIN with the hope of giving all the low caste children growing up in the district a better chance through and by the means of education. Almost everybody in the area around my village is dalit or low caste. In the meantime, I believe that education is a valid if not the only instrument to force the system and to get a better chance.
